Bangli – Children of Widhya Asih Bangli attended a seminar with the theme “Gender-Based Sexual Violence” at the GKPB Marga Rahayu Bangli church building Saturday (15/7/2023). The seminar organized by Maha Bhoga Marga Foundation (MBM) in collaboration with the Kristiyasa Christian Youth Group of Marga Rahayu Bangli Congregation, presented Alvonso Novika, S.H, an HIV counselor, lawyer and social worker at the MBM Foundation as a keynote speaker.
This training is a basic introduction to understanding sexual and gender-based violence to increase participant’s knowledge and understanding of the concept of gender, and gender-based violence, sexuality, and rights as well as to prevent violence and protecting vulnerable.
On his presentation, Alvonso Novika, S.H explained about forms of sexual violence are sexual harassment, sexual intimidation, sexual exploitation, forced abortion, rape and sexual abuse, forced prostitution, sexual slavery and sexual torture. he added that sexual violence could also happenned in the digital world such as cyber grooming, cyber harassment, illegal content, morphing, surveillance, online prostitution, revenge porn, and sexting.
